Different from the other Western European countries, France has many similarities with China in sport management. For example, it focuses on the formulation of statutory law and encourages industry self-regulation though it lays stress on administration. It establishes CNOSF, a national sport management organization, to coordinate all the sports associations in France. The construction of French sports dispute resolution system also follows this principle. Any dispute is first resolved by the dispute resolution agency within the sports association and then it can be arbitrated or mediated by the external Chamber set up by CNOSF, and finally, it can be resolved through administrative court proceedings. Such dispute resolution system guarantees good connection between the dispute resolution agency within sports associations and the existing national judicial system and therefore, the continuity and integrity of the entire system are maintained. |
