On August 26, 2010, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science & Technology of Japan issued Sports Promotion Strategy, which contains the latest sports development policy of Japan in the following 10 years. With a target of creating a new type of sports culture and based on the principles of laying emphasis on people, improving cooperation within the sports circles and effectively using sports resources, the Strategy includes 5 major strategic measures.
