The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposes that the harmonious coexistence of man and nature be one of the important features of Chinese-style modernisation. The development of green sports and balancing the contradiction between the growth in demand for outdoor sports and the depletion of natural resources have become a current research hotspot. In this context, to investigate how aquatic sports promote participants' pro-environmental behaviour intentions and the relationship between place dependence and pro-environmental behaviour intentions, and to verify whether there is a mediating role for place identity, the study used literature review, questionnaire survey and mathematical statistics to construct a conceptual model of the specific influence mechanism of place dependence on pro-environmental behaviour intentions, and used participation frequency as the basis for grouping to test the differences in the influence of place dependence on pro-environmental behavioral intentions under different participation frequencies. The study found that: firstly, aquatic sports can be a good way to promote pro-environmental behaviour. The study finds that: firstly, aquatic sports could foster participants' place dependence on specific places and promote pro-environmental behaviour intentions; secondly, place identity was an important factor in promoting participants' pro-environmental behaviour intentions; thirdly, the frequency of active aquatic sports participation reinforces the influence of participants' place dependence and place identity on proenvironmental behaviour intentions. The study suggests that in the future, we can focus on creating local characteristic aquatic sports business cards, optimising the aquatic sports service system and other aspects to enhance the participants' local dependence, promote their pro-environmental behaviour intentions, and promote the harmonious coexistence of human beings and nature. |
