Objective: This case study examines the customized rehabilitation program designed for Ms. Yuan, an esteemed female freestyle wrestler, following Achilles tendon rupture surgery, 12 weeks post-operation. Method: Evaluation of Ms. Yuan's progress employed a comprehensive testing approach, including assessments of balance, joint mobility, body composition, strength metrics, single-leg jump distance, and sport-specific performance indicators. The 12-week post-surgery rehabilitation protocol comprised three distinct phases, integrating various interventions such as proprioception enhancement, strength conditioning, functional drills, and specialized technical refinement, with the overarching aim of achieving comprehensive recovery. Result: By the 27th week post-surgery, during the 16th week of rehabilitation, Ms. Yuan surpassed the 90% threshold on the Limb Symmetry Index (LSI) for her affected side, leading to her formal reintegration into specialized training. Within two weeks, she achieved her career-best performance at the national championship. Conclusion: This case is divided into three stages according to the purpose of rehabilitation. Key to the success of this intervention are five primary focal points: inflammation management, restoration of joint mobility, enhancement of proprioception, reconditioning of lower limb function, and improvement of physical prowess. Maintaining balance in strength between the bilateral lower limbs emerges as a critical strategy in mitigating the risk of recurrence. |
