The construction of sports venues is a vital content and carrier of the coordinated development in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, as well as an important means to promote regional economic and social development, enhance regional competitiveness and attractiveness. This article selected Beijing, Tianjin, and 11 prefecture-level cities in Hebei as research objects, and used the 2015 and 2021 data to establish an attractiveness model for sports venue cities. By using social network analysis methods, quantitative analysis was conducted on the spatiotemporal characteristics of sports venues in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration based on indicators such as network density, node centrality, and cohesive subgroups. The results are revealed as follows: from the perspective of temporal evolution, the overall network spatial layout of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region shows an outward radiation with Beijing at the centre, and the spatial connection between Beijing and cities such as Zhangjiakou and Tangshan are gradually tightened. The network structure of sports venues in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration has undergone new changes, shifting from a single Beijing-center model to a new network pattern with multiple centers and levels. From 2015 to 2021, the number of central cities in the Beijing urban agglomeration increased from 3 to 6. Shijiazhuang, Tangshan, and Baoding played an increasingly important role as bridges between southern and eastern cities; Zhangjiakou and Chengde developed hand in hand; while Xingtai and Handan were gradually marginalized. The spatial and temporal distribution of sports venues is influenced by policies, economic foundations, population and the development of the sports industry, especially large-scale events. Therefore, it is recommended to: do a good job in policy guidance, strengthen communication and sharing, and promote the venue coordination and connection; facilitate economic growth, optimize the contents to improve the availability of venues, and stimulate the vitality of existing venues; integrate the advantages and better develop sports events to achieve collaborative eco-development of venues. |
