| The paper introduces the concept of “insider”.Through interviewing Korean Wushu experts and athletes, the authors tried to explore the image of Chinese wushu in their eyes and the development of Wushu in Korea.Because these peopleidentify Chinese Wushuand carry the tradition of Korean culture and values. Their cognition of Chinese Wushu affects the attitude of the Korean “outsiders”. In the eyes of Korean “insiders”, Chinese Wushu features gorgeous richness and simple manners, but it looksnon standard and uncertain. Meanwhile, though there are quite a few cultural similarities between China and Korea, the Korean people always keep a certain distance to the Chinese culture due to the different factors. Therefore, they think that Chinese Wushu is still not so popular in Korea. In terms of Wushu competition, the women's events are still lagging behind.But the competitions are organized comprehensively and normatively, which plays an important role in guiding the development of Wushu.They often invite Chinese coaches to work in Korea for a shortterm, but they pay more attention toensuring the development of local coaches. Sanda and Tai Chi are developing with good prospects in Korea. If the Korean cognition of Chinese wushu is a mirror, then the awareness of Chinese Wushu in other countries or regions around the world is aprism, which shows the image of Chinese Wushu with both illusion and reality, difference and similarity. How to find out the self-cognition of Chinese Wushu in the cognitive structure of the other countries toward Chinese Wushu is a key question needs to be answered by the Wushu researchers. |
