| Taling Tene Rodrigue, an African from Cameroon, expresses his views on Chinese Wushu. He thinks that a kind of Wushu culture exists in the different culture around the world. Africa has its own Wushu culture and China also has its own unique Wushu culture. Therefore, in cultural communication, and firstly in the translation of the different languages, the word “Martial Art” cannot express correctly the cultural connotation of Chinese Wushu. He hopes that a more accurate word can be found later to describe Chinese Wushu. Similarly, it is difficult to put African Martial Arts into Chinese. Besides, he has a dream about the Wushu exchanges between China and Cameroon, that is, to set up a comprehensive cultural organization, which will further promote Chinese wushu and African martial culture through the localization of Chinese Wushu so as to enhance the cultural exchanges between China and Africa. |
